I’ve created this collapsible space to keep you all updated on my most recent paintings and illustrations in progress as well as the sketches I do at work to keep my mind from imploding… As most of you know I work at a *for-now-unnamed-major-LA-Art-Museum* as a GA which means I stand in one place for 8 hours a day. (I’m also one of those people who tell you “Don’t touch the Art!!” but more on that later…) For those of you who have never done this or who have very strong thighs, this is an exceptionally hard and exceptionally painful feet (I mean feat) for most of us. Some days, I am able to spend my 8 hours surrounded by amazing, spectacular, mind blowing art painted by men who truly deserve to be called masters. Other days I’m guarding a couch which is probably one of the more ironic experiences of my life. (Did I mention my feet?) This has led to various neurosis which I battle on a day to day basis. Drawing strange, sacrilegious, pornographic, offensive and all around weird things really seems to help with the panic one feels when faced with 6 more hours of sanity-destroying loneliness. (I really hope that comes across much less emo than it sounds…) So came about “The Awful Little Girls”. Let me stop telling and just show you…
